Illustration for fun! Look at my eyes!!!!

Hey everyone,
Today I'd like to post here an illustration I've done. I was doing some exercise in Adobe Illustration and with a lot of pacience I got this result. If you can note, the eyelashes are composed by single vectors done once. And how about the eye? Isn't incredibily wonderful???? I simply love love love love love it. I found the shadows and eye colour quite real, don't you as well?
I love designing in Adobe Illustration or Corel Draw, although I find Adobe Illustration much more user friendly.
Actually my intention with this illustration is to create a funny illustration of myself ;-) Coming soon!!!!!
I wish I could have more time to spend learning and practicing more with those tools!!!!!!
Love,
Andréa

Funny aircrafts

Dear all,
I designed this room with a lot of love to my nephew Lucca. As you can imagine, he is son of a pilot and the theme was aircrafts. It should be funny and at the same time combined with animals! I draw them and loved the result. The colours were pastel with a bit of stronger tons so that it does not get a very boring aspect. All of them were cut in MDF.
The door plate was also an aircraft with his name hang on it neck.
I enjoyed so much doing this, and if I'm not wrong it was one of my firsts room projects.
Hope you love it as well ;-)
Kisses

Children education

A topic in which I'm very interested and busy currently is children education. I'm reading now "Be happy, my son" from Eçami Tiba, a reknown psiquiatrician in Brazil with many books published, among others this one.

First of all, I would like to give an advice to parents in general.  They should take the time to read a bit, as they do when the woman is pregnant or when they are getting a baby. At this stage people are normally insecure about the maternity and how to deal with a little human-being who is not able to communicate cleary. When children grow they learn talking, which facilitates communication, however, not rarely, many problems can arise during the childhood or adolescence, which could probably be easier to handle if parents would be more informed about how to face and behave in front of such problems. That's why Içami indicates that parents should keep reading during childhood and adolescence of their children.

Now, from what I'm reading I understand that we have to be aware that we should educate our children in two different aspects, which are: 1- Educate to develop good values such as respect, honesty, goodness, etc. and 2- Educate to develop strong character, meaning children should be prepared for life.

We can raise children to have good values but errors in education can have the consequence to make them become fagile emotionally.  I agree!!! In my opinion, good values are more easy to obtain, if they are practiced at home. Children grow taking the example of the parents first, assuming for themselves some values for life. What they see at home is the main example to them. External influence also determine some attitudes, but I'm convinced that a healthy familiar living together is much stronger than anything outside.

Strong characters on the other hand are built when a child understands their limits and is motivated to execute what they are supposed and able to execute, such as homeworks, certain household, limited discipline, responsibility! etc.

It is also partially on the hand of the parents to prepare their child to be able to resolve problems, giving them the tools so that THEY find out how to best solve something: fixing things they broke, finishing homework, etc. Parents should not solve every problem for them when the child is able to solve them on their own.

Another very important point is that "little children like to help as a natural instinct". So parents need to identify when they are offering help. We need to be able to put ourselves in the child's place to identify it. Based on their current capacity, what seems to us that they are messing things, this is in reality their sense of offering help. As an example of what happened with me: I was hanging clothes and Athina was taking off the clothes I'd just hang and gave it back to me... Well, I could have said: Athina, go playing that mom is working here and you are distubing. In this specific case, according to her capacity, this way was her way of offering me help. She was giving to me the cloth to hang, although it was already in the right place. The point is that she didn't understand that YET.  I can imagine this as a typical situation that, if you show gratefulness to the child, you are developing in it a sense of feeling helpful and avoiding in the future to grow a lazy child. If you repeatedily repress them, they can get more and more frustrated and fragile, not really knowing in what they can be useful for.

Well, children need to feel secure at home, they need love and directions, and more important, they need limits, limits to know in future that life is not an eternal fairytale, where everything we want is reacheable. But we should set limits to make them know that we are responsible for our achievements in future and that things are not falling from heaven, but what we achieve is a result of our own perseverance. Sometimes it can appear to us as a difficult work to face, but one thing is right, once we set limits we need to be consequent - naturally children will get used to it.
What I write here is my poing of view, my understanding of what I'm currently reading and from my own meandering experience with my doughter. I'm not perfect, probably I should be doing something differently, but I try my best, I'm getting informed, and everything I'm doing now is for love. Who loves cares. Everything has only one target: my doughter to be happy and happier.

Many kisses to all,
Andréa

Toy Story - wall painting to Lucca

Hi everyone,
Hope you like this wall painting I made in the room of my nephew. He is 4 years old and loves Buzz Lightyear!!!! This characters are not easy to paint, because of so many details. It took me almost one week to finish them. Also because Athina was too small and I couldn't spend so much time doing this.
But I loved the result... only the clouds are missing but I promised my cousin that I would bring them ready next time I go to Recife.
Kisses to all of you,
Andréa

Happy birthday ATHINA - 1. anniversary Athina's spring

Dear all,
I have great pleasure to present to you the decoration of the first anniversary of my treasure Athina.
The theme was Athina's spring, but I didn't use the usual theme with flowers with eyes and little animals on the forest but polka dots, picnic and gifts to guests with reference to garden.
The colours were yellow, green, pink and violet and its nuances for the main table and red polka dots for the picnic scenario and strawberries. There was also the sweet edge where colourful sweets were put into paper's polka dots flowers and a cute topper in form of an apple. The main table was decorated with two towers of cupcakes, diverses gifts to guests, two vases of natural flowers and an extraordinary cake, which I simple felt in love with. Also in front of the table three garden vases decorated with textile bow and natural flowers. About the scenario I preparated a picnic edge with sawn strawberries, real marmelade and raspberry juice. Detail to the chair: it belonged to me when I was a little child ;-) My mother renovated it to be used now by Athina and also to be part of her party...
I have also to say that every single bow you can see in this party was made by me. Everything was prepared with most possible dedication and care. Most of the party gifts were bought in Germany and decoration accessories as well... Other complements were bought in Rio de Janeiro and others in Recife.
The concept of this party can be resumed as something clean, not really child related but more european gardens related, polka dots as main exploration topic, fewer balloons decoration, symetric table decoration, natural flowers and love, love, love......
I hope you enjoyed it.
Many kisses to all of you,
Andréa

Cupcakes to love

Hi there,
well... I'm also a fan of the cute and delicious cupcakes. Navigating on the internet, I found this interesting cupcake with forest animals decoration. The girafe behind the cupcake gives the special detail to this. The cupcake wrapper is also sweet and combined with the leaf topper you can see a nice 3D effect, as we really were in the forest ;-)
Looking at this and following this idea of cupcake deco, I have explosion of ideas on my mind... wow I love it.
See you soon,
Andréa

Invitation - Athina's Spring

Hi everyone,
Do you know Origami? This way of folding paper to make fancy shapes...
I love it and to prepare the invitation for Athina's birthday I chose this cute lily made with fine polka dots papers.
The theme is Athina's Spring and the adorable Lily matched greatfully to the topic.
Nice idea don't you think?
And the birthday party is coming soon ;-))) you can already have an idea of what is coming...
Many kisses, Andréa

Fairies for Athina!!!

Hi all,
Since before my pregnancy I used to buy myself the comics Faries... yes, I'm a big child.... and loved the characters and the style of the drawing - moviments, colours, scenarios, etc... - and then I thought I could also create a scenario with the Disney Fairies and turn it into reality in my bedroom at my parents' home in Recife / Brazil - where we spent our summer time this year!
I cut the fairies at home in Germany and painted them here... in Brazil I prepared the wall and painted the scenario there and could fix the Fairies at the end, the same way I did in Athina's room at our place.
Again, full of small animals, to which we showed Athina all the time and she seemed to enjoy looking, although she was only 4 months old....
Also I had the idea to reproduce two plush animals Athina has, the centipede and another colorful one.
I was soooo excited to finish this project and when it was finished - wow - I was so happy with the result! More than happy!
Many kisses to all,
Andréa

Adorable Balloon

^
Dear all,
This adorable painting with the bears in the colourful balloon is one of my beloved paintings. I love it because the colour combination came out very good together.
To give it a more cute detail I put a bow on one bear and a ladybug flying around....
Don't you think this painting is so irresistibly adorable?
Many kisses and so long,
Andrea

Door plate to Athina

Hi everyone,
My beloved doughter also had a cute door plate and that should give an idea that she was coming in... coming in our lives. Indeed!
I made a sweet door plate with a girl in light violet and with simple forms. I made a contrast with the room theme, because it had nothing to do with the frog's forest, also not in colour. Never mind! That's what I wanted, something only to relate to her, to a sweet girl like she is!
Hope you like it as I do!!!!!!!
Many kisses!

The frog forest to my Athina

Dear all,
well... to begin, this was THE achievement of my life! I enjoyed every moment of this concept, creation and realization.... every figure I created and how things have evolved. My technique has been improved significantly and at the end I could say I became a meister hehehe... just because every little detail has been made with as must dedication as I could give to it.
The frogs forest and its trees and houses in the trees, the lake and the happy frogs coming up together to celebrate the birth of my little Athina, one year ago.
When I made this project I was already pregnant and I can say I was in the best good mood I've ever been, all my thoughts and heart were concentrated to my pregnancy and my baby inside me.
It gave me somehow inspiration that moved me forward to finish this project.
Firstly I wanted to choose a theme that could serve to both boy or girl and then it came to my mind that I could explore something going to the green colour, which above all means hope. This way I came to the idea to paint frogs. They are cute and happy. We can do a lot of things with them and mix up with other little forest animals.
Another point of my concept was that I didn't want something extremely boring, with light pink or light blue. I wanted something with live, colourful and at the same time not that much strong in colour. Therefore I tried to use pastel colours mixed with more strong ones, which could lately attract the attention of Athina. Well... target met ;-)
All figures were drawn in wood, cut with my scroll saw, painted and then fixed on the wall with hot glue.
About the textile developed to the room, I also draw everything, the figures, pillows and curtains as well as which textile should be used. And then I sent all drawings by fax to a good professional in the countryside of my state in Brazil, Pernambuco. She can do wonderful job, and quite quickly. All textile has been brought by my mother to Germany, during my pregnancy as well. When I saw it, I could hard believe in what my eyes were seeing, so much beautiful that my creation has become.
All this to wait for the arrival of our God's gift Athininha!
... and she keeps enjoying her room...
Many kisses and see you soon,
Andréa

Dear animals!

Hi everyone,
Those are my little animals I simple love! The bigger one with all animals above the leaves is more than 30cm long and I enjoy so much look at it... I made one for me and it is hanged in my atelier.
The other three are complementary and can be put one next to other... They are so colourful and full of energy. An alternative to the one with the three animals reading a book was to write down the child's name on the clould, so that it can be used as a door plate as well.... anyway I find them the cutest!!!!!
Kisses to all,
See you soon!
Love,
Andréa
